Everyone understands that the Post Office promotes connectivity. You post a letter, a bill, or a birthday card, and the Post Office delivers your package to its destination. However, the Post Office offers so much more than simple postal services. Did you know the Post Office also provides valuable insurance to people just like you? Finding a reputable insurance provider for your needs is not an easy task. In fact, finding a good insurance provider with acceptable rates can be downright difficult and tedious. The Post Office online offers travel insurance, car insurance, home insurance, and van insurance offering features, prices, and benefits customised to the consumer. One available travel insurance package is the Annual Multi-Trip option. If you and your family have plans of taking multiple holidays or trips either abroad or within the UK, this package is designed for you. Choosing the Annual Multi-Trip package offers protection for the whole family, even the kids! There are three options available within the annual insurance package: European coverage, worldwide coverage excluding the USA, Canada, and the Caribbean, or worldwide coverage including the USA, Canada, and the Caribbean. In addition, you can choose to apply the coverage to only yourself, yourself and your partner, or your entire family. By choosing the family coverage, any child under the age of 18 is covered when travelling even if travelling with relatives not a parent. What exactly is covered, and what are the limits? The limits are based on a single trip or vacation, and in the event of the multi-trip package is purchased, the consumer has an unlimited number of trips with a maximum of 31 days per trip. The coverage does not include hazardous activities or winter sports. Whether 18-30 holidays are classified as hazardous activities is unknown… The policy covers a number of areas, and these are summarised below: A. Cancellation and curtailment – What happens if your vacation or trip is cancelled? Instead of loss of the money invested, the Post Office offers a solution. There is a limit of £5,000 per 31-day period with a £50 excess charge. B. Delayed departure – What happens if your transport is delayed unexpectedly? Should your departure by any means be delayed, the Post Office will provide £20 for the first 8 hours and £20 for every 12 hour period after the fact. In the event the delay is more than 12 hours, the abandonment clause kicks into effect. There is a £300 limit for the first 8 hours, and a £5,000 limit for the 12 hour periods. C. Missed departure - Should you miss the departure of the train or airplane, the Post Office will cover up to £1,000 to insure you get back on course as quickly as possible. D.
